How to tell if a French restaurant is really a good and true French restaurant. Simple answer: you have to see french nationals dining there. Ici et Là passes that crucial test, with the honors from the jury, as each time I could find at least one table singing the sweet melody of French to my... well french ears. Ici et La exists since many years, but since they relocated on Strada Domnita Ruxandra, I have to admit that the experience is even better than what it used to be. Located in a beautifully renovated house, surrounded by a welcoming a terrace, I suggest you try their tartare beef if you are into raw meat. No worries, if it is not your cup of tea, there are other options which will satisfy your palate for sure.
And not to forget a must for any french restaurant: a great wine list.
And a bonus:  some craft beer from One Beer Later, brewed by another French man in Buzau.

Romanian food is not necessarily about Mici, Sarmale and Zacusca, and Zexe makes sure people who enjoy a dinner at their restaurant get to know about other specific dishes. You might have passed front of the entrance without  noticing it. Indeed, the place seems as discret as the quantity and the variety of their offer is large, and I guess I can declare without taking any risks that at other times, Bacchus's adorers would have chosen Vino as their sanctuary. Hundreds and hundreds of bottles of wine are waiting for you, it's as much flavours as    colourfull wine dresses   which are offered to your look and your sense of taste.
The feeling that catched me  when I've been there is that  owners combined  the sophistication and the requirement, the choice of a bottle can represent, with the simplicity   but deeply efficient   following equation: a glass +   delicatessen and cheese plate  + friends = Perfection. No need  for me to have a PhD in mathematics to discover the result.
Here the conviviality is the key and it seems that in a biggest place, Vino's experience must have been definitly something else. A large and unique table at the first floor,  it seems that everything there has been done  in order to remind to all us that we are social animals, and so much more socials around wine and food to share together.

Attached to the French Institute building in Bucharest, Elvire Popesco is a very popular cinema that usually premieres Romanian movies and hosts film festivals such as NexT, but also reunites the French community (hot guys alert -- i told them not to let me write this article) in Bucharest through conferences etc. Named after a very popular actress that was too pretty to live in Romania and wanted more followers so she went to Paris, this cinema features a very interesting movie selection (also late evening screenings for night owls).
This is a nice place for dates, of course, and nobody is going to spoil your romantic evening by loudly chewing popcorn behind you, because that's forbidden here.

Tired of the same old bars in the city? Need a change of scenery? Look no further than Lokal, a hidden gem tucked away in the heart of Bucharest. Located in the former home of the great actor Birlic, this place oozes vintage charm and a laid-back atmosphere. But it's not just the decor that's enticing; the food and the friendly staff also do the trick. During the summer, you can enjoy your drinks and meals in the intimate and relaxed garden area.

Mostly serving coffee bags for home baristas, you can still go for a visit and order your favourite drink. If it is indeed a bistro with good craft beer, burgers and some vegan options, all its proceeds go to the artistic and cultural association Imbold that has its gallery in the main house (one that could very well be your grandma’s if she’d been to art school). The attic (or mansarda) is a super cozy hangout where you’ll sometimes catch a screening. The garden is where you’ll wanna hang out with your friends under Acuarela’s now-iconic skyline of coloured umbrellas. If it starts raining cats and dogs, you’ll hardly be protected. But that’s exactly the right time to grab the water colors and brushes you’ll find on the table and start being creative.

An ambitious mission, especially since they put the focus on cross-disciplinary works, while making it accessible to anyone and not only specialists. Ambitious, but necessary as those places are too rare in today's Bucharest. With the theater at the third floor, two spacious rooms and a garden, any cultural event happening there mobilizes as much curious people as intense art lovers, making each visit a source of inspiration for the visitors.
Being a national heritage building, the place combines perfectly the classical architecture with the inside's more modern look, revealing in a way what is Point all about.
Finally, if you are a little epicurean like me, you will hardly resist having a drink from the bar or a tasty meal from their kitchen, whatever was the original reason of your visit.

Nested in an old renovated house, you actually feel like you're in a collectionner's lounge, except everything is on sale.

Besides the good coffee roasted by Guido, you are not safe from discovering a cute glass or a stylish old camera to purchase and bring with you home. 

Five minutes away from Piata Romana, it would be sad not to take a look at all those little gems from the past, while enjoying a great cup of coffee.

MINGLE.BUCHAREST

A popular place during hot summer evenings, Shift Pub is known for its proximity to Piața Romană. Hidden inside a courtyard, the place could be seen as a beer garden in the summer, a pub or a cozy bistro. While the seating downstairs looks rather formal, upstairs you can find more cozy spots nicely designed. Their selection of drinks and especially wine is a must-try, and their diverse menu offers veggie options too. 

It can get really crowded during the evenings, so be sure to book a table if you want to eat there. As for recommendations, I would really suggest the zucchini with cream cheese and the white chocolate cake!

Shift Pub

Trei Betivi Bar is open until the last customer leaves. More than just a bar, the place has a strong craft beer menu, live music on a regular basis, and Sunday movie nights.

Live music is great way to promote local musicians, and their movie nights make us watch movies we'd not have thought about (#noBlockbusterhere), which is a big value add in my opinion.

The place is relatively small, but offers a terrace with a couple of seats.



Trei Betivi Bar

"Jump around" is a song from House of Pain, but here you are at Casa del Pan... and you'll definitely jump around when you'll see the different type of breads displayed in front of your eyes. They all look so good that it will take you some time to decide which one to take home. But no worries, Daniel will most probably be ready to help you. Trust me, you've probably never seen such a passionate bread lover and maker before.

What can you expect? Well, a mix of Romanian, Spanish and French bread mostly, as well as other interesting curiosities.

Lente loves art. Lente loves animation (they’re partners of the awesome Anim’Est festival). And Lente loves even more street artists, as its walls, both indoors and outdoors, will confirm. This is Lente’s third and latest 'living room', an artsy haven tucked away on the lovely Dionisie Lupu street, a few minutes away from Piata Romana. This is a place with an open mind and open doors (they welcome kids, pets and bikes) that feels like home.

Again, seasons matter. In winter, you’ll find comfort in this old bourgeois house where the attic has been turned into a heaven for board games (there’s over 100 of them for you to binge). 
In summer, the terrace takes over, home to some cool wall painting events and outdoor djing.  Their Asian woks are pretty rad, but if you’re a burger scientist, head to Lente on Wednesdays and try to convince the chef your recipe is worth a try, you may get to leave your mark on their future menu.

Most of us were missing Gradina Eden and its iconic vibes on the back of Palatul Stirbei. Most of us will love Sera Eden and its amazing greenhouse installed on the back of Casa Bratienilor. A lot of space, plants and trees, delicious cocktails, and some nice food available. Sera Eden is already a symbol of Bucharest post-pandemic rebirth.

Romania's craft beer scene boomed in the last few years, some of the brands being already considered iconic. However, many other micro-breweries are doing a good job all over the country, and the right way to know most of them is to go to The Beer Institute, the first shop dedicated only to local craft beers. More than 100 different brands available in the shop, but there is also the possibility to enjoy a fresh beer at the bar.

If you're craving some delicious Georgian cuisine in Bucharest, look no further than Taverna Georgia. This place is a dream come true for all those who have longed for authentic Georgian flavors in Romania.

The menu at Taverna Georgia offers a variety of mouthwatering dishes such as Khinkali and Adjarian Kachapuri. And let's not forget about the excellent selection of Georgian wines or lemonades that perfectly complement your meal.

Hop Hooligans, one of Romania's most notorious craft beer brewery, is now establishing its own chapel for craft beer hooligans. The mausoleum of their famous Crowd Control can be found there, where you can enjoy most of your after-works, evenings and weekends. Usually offering 15+ different draught craft beers, you can also try experimental and foreign beers in cans and bottles, that you can pick up directly from the fridges. Glad to see Romanian craft beer brewers having their dedicated taproom in town!

Near the British Embassy, Orygyns is the perfect place for coffee lovers who don’t necessarily have the time to go all over the world to try coffee from different roasteries. Located on Calea Dorobanti, Dose Café belongs to two former sailors from Constanta, who fell in love with specialty coffee during their numerous trips all around the world. Open since a year and half, they remain loyal to their coffee provider, Caffenation, a roastery based in Antwerp, another harbor city, to give us a wink. Good coffee for sure, but also great service! Always smiling and willing to help, you will feel home by the time you open the door. The place is small, but very enjoyable for a coffee to drink in.

You might have a heard about Londophone close to Cismigiu... Well you've found yourself a Londohome now. A good spot if you're a bit curious about Bucharest's music scene. Also a good occasion to chill on the terrace, under the cozy green leaves, and most likely with either a craft beer (Three Happy Brewers, Sikaru, Hop Hooligans...) or why not, an original craft cider from Clarks.

Let's start with a fun fact. You know how us French think we're so good at cooking simple but refined, and oh-so-delicate 'cuisine'. We've got this big baguette of an ego leading us to brag and boast about the balance of the tastes we lay on those pretty porcelain plates. Well one day I got to try Beautyfood. And it is beauty good. Obviously they have the classic burgers and all that, but since you asked me, my sweet spot is the salmon. This bad boy is chilling out there, having a ball with some salad leaves + rice (cooked juuuust right). I told you, it's simple, but it's fresh and delicious. If you'd like to go further in the fresh category, a good choice is always the 'menu du jour', limited edition of food-kisses and other butterflies in your belly. 
One last fun-fact since you really want to know this: when Mother comes to visit, she always eats here. And she knows about good food.

Boogie Bar is all about serving your favorite beverage at a fair price, providing good music which fits with the time of the day you get there, a friendly staff, a lovely terrace for sunny days, and something that reminds me of most bars in Germany, and which can make you stay there for hours: a table football (it's called foosball in Romanian, right?) .

You got it, Boogie is the kind of place that will make you spend some great laughing / playing / dancing / drinking time with a bunch of friends.

If you’re nostalgic about the late 80s and the 90s, the brand new Replace location on Armeneasca might be your perfect spot to sneak for some cool garments while enjoying some great songs from the boom bap times. Sunbathing with my morning coffee on the spot, while listening to Notorious B.I.G felt like I was in Brooklyn for a moment.

Plant lover? You'll enjoy spending some time at FROG for your lunch break or for some cocktails with friends in the evening. Small and cozy, you'll be surrounded by greenery, constellations and friendly staff.

Want some food? They have a selection of homemade cakes which will keep you busy in front of the counter for a while, as it is honestly difficult to choose what to order. They all look so good. I went for the Tarte Tatin which was delicious, but I think I'll have to go back soon, to try another cake. It really reminded me of these Scandinavian brunch places, where cakes are king!

Savory dishes are also on the menu, from vegetarian lasagnes, salads, soups, quiches, and various platters to share. It is nice to see a mixture of italian, french and moroccan dishes on the menu.

Finally, for the late bees, their cocktails list is a must-try.

There are many reasons why Salon Golescu deserves to be on this map. I think we should start talking about the quality of the service, ensuring you to spend a nice evening. You can only expect politeness and relevant advices, and it really feels good to be served by some of the most professionals waiters in town.

I agree, with good service should come delicious products. Well... You will particularly admire the selection of whiskeys, rums, gins, and other spirits on their menu. Not into consuming alcohol the "hard" way? There are many cocktails options, tasty local craft beer and a nice wine list.

 I also suggest you to get seduced by the food options.

M60 is the place who got created in an area surrounded by the best hotels in town. Guess why? These hotels don't even serve specialty coffee. M60 is the favourite place of freelancers, as it has quite a lot of space, plugs, and comfortable chairs and table to give the possibility to someone to stay hours while being productive on his tasks.

Amis de la Fete (Party Friends) is the ideal location to have a raclette in Bucharest, prepared directly at the Fromagerie, in front of your eyes. 

Yes, a raclette is usually something the French and the Swiss enjoy together with friends, with a view over the Alps (works also with the Carpathian mountains). We'll skip the view this time, but the great time spent with family and friends will still remain. Do not hesitate to get a glass of wine (or two). If you are a white wine lover, I recommend the Apremont, from the Savoie region. You prefer red, well, simply ask for the Rouge de Savoie. 

Not feeling like having a raclette? Look at the 'vitrina', and you'll find a great assortment of French cheese to bring home.

Atipic is a small cafe located behind ASE, near Piata Romana. Bianca, who used to work at the same place when it was called Boiler, took over the coffee shop and now serves coffee from Colonna.

You feel kind of Alice when you enter Mara Mura, not only because of its british tearoom vibes, but also thanks to the truly wonders you can find. 

Freshly made cheesecakes, millefeuilles, canelés, éclairs, pavlovas, to name a few...Once you're in you're trapped, it's impossible to choose only one cake, not to mention the variety of tartlets..And if you're really hungry or need a cake for a special occasion, they also serve larger cakes on the spot or on demand.

Nested in the gourmand strada Golescu, you can also enjoy these delicacies at the terrace along with a hot beverage. Often busy during weekends, you might need to be patient before being served. But trust me, it's worth waiting.

Mara Mura

"Cafelier" sounds like a french translation for "barista". It definitely refers to a coffee professional, and this is what the place aims to achieve by roasting their own coffee on Lascar Catargiu boulevard, next to Piata Romana. The place is also a coffee shop offering a spacious design inside and a little terrace in front of the shop. We particularly like the friendly staff. Congrats on the opening!

A hidden place, yet often with full terrace.

Ever After is Suento and Gram Bistro's little brother. Once thing is sure, their menu is so appealing that it was actually hard for me to decide what to take. The good thing is that my first two experiences were so positive that I may come back often to try the whole menu.

What to expect? Colorful dishes, salad, vegetarian and vegan dishes, but not only. 

Their cocktails are also appealing, but I let you get on their Instagram page to see it by yourself.

Finally, it feels good to sit somewhere near a park, far away from the traffic, while enjoying some good time with friends.

Mexican cuisine, using Romanian products only. Nothing was imported from Mexico, besides some of the equipment used to cook amazing dishes. Yes, it helps reducing a place's carbon-footprint, and yes, it tastes great! Tacos lovers have a new place to add in their to-do-list, when being in western Bucharest. 

M.A.T stands for "Masa Artisanal Taqueria" for the ones who are still wondering why "M.A.T".

About the design? Somewhat minimalist, somewhat rustic, but definitely well done! Congrats to the chefs, Alexandru Iacob and Cristi Dăscăleanu, and the rest of the team.

Resale might be a small second-hand by it size, but it does host a nice selection of second-hand for those who are looking for something else than some more H&M copy-paste. Worth mentioning: they sell their items per kilogram.

The historical French Revolution shop, in front of the Romanian Atheneum, is the perfect sweet refuel place for the ones walking in the center of Bucharest. The choices are the same than at French Revolution Victoriei, but I truely advice you to go ther quite early if you want to make sure you find what you need. Officially closing at 8pm during weekends, French Revolution usually manage to sell all its eclairs at 6pm, tho. Has to be tasty, right?

Hey, clatite lover, what about trying pancakes, but the Russian way this time? 

The best way to explain you what a Russian pancake is about is to try it yourself. Just know that after one amazing salted pancake, you might feel quite full. But if you still feel like feeding your stomach with good food, there is an interesting sweet menu as well. 

We usually go for the pancake with cheese, lot of cheese.

If you wonder about the chef, just know that he is from Russia and he knows what he does.

Our Ukrainian and Bulgarian neighbors have this concept since many years now, and it is great to see Artizan Beer doing the same job in Romania.

You can now buy draught craft beer to your home, and by liter. Indeed, they fill bottles of 1L from the draught and all you do is to pay for the quantity you ordered. This is also much cheaper than buying 33cl bottles of beer. While we advice to consume alcohol responsibly, just make sure that once you open the bottle, it should be drank relatively quickly if you want your beer to remain tasty, as you can't really store it for a week, once you opened the bottle. 

I think this is the perfect concept for house parties. You can throw big home events with quality beer at a competitive price.

If you still prefer to drink your beer in 33cl bottles, please note that they also have fridges with a nice selection of craft beer.

Say "howdy" to Le Bab Fried Chicken - Amzei, the spot to go for lip-smackingly good comfort food. Its well-rounded and vegetarian-friendly menu is tinged with a kick of adventure, notably their standout cauliflower dishes. We remember seeing articles about Taco Bell to open in Romania, and that made us so sad to see how many people were happy about it, especially as they already have El Torito offering the best Mexican food in Eastern Europe. Just to tell you that if you want some real Mexican cuisine, don't go to Mega Mall or Promenada, but Iancu Capitanu, near Foisorul de Foc. Just make sure you book a table first, the place is often full.

There are those shops you enter knowing exactly what you want to buy. There are those you visit simply with excitement, to look for something delightful. 

Sertar Magic is the latter kind - a vintage and second-hand menagerie, filled to the ceiling with antique furniture, homewares, watches, clocks, vinyls, mirrors, lamps, trinkets, games, signs, vases, statuettes, artworks, books……. This list is almost endless.

Started around two and a half years ago by Belgian native, Michael, the shop itself is just as attractive as the items he has carefully selected to sell. Unlike many other second-hand shops, everything sold in this "Magic Drawer" works and is ready to use. With new items arriving regularly, and occasional social events to showcase fresh stock, it’s a joyful place and worth returning to whenever you’re in the area.

You've probably heard about ViceCream, as their ice cream were already present in a decent amount of nice locations and events in the past months. ViceCream has now its own shop, on Strada George Enescu, and it's definitely worth visiting. 

It's all about natural ingredients, and made in small quantities, to guarantee an unique and fresh product.

Very straight-to-the point, Gedo makes 'simple' taste amazing. If you're into Middle-Eastern and Sudanese food, you'll get great quality for little money. No need to ask for anything fancy, just order some rice, spit-roasted lamb, veal or chicken, some hummus, why not Ayran, and finally enjoy the moment. Gedo is one of those places where prices are kept ultra-low while plates are ultra-full. You know what they say, tell your friends...

Friddi is more than an ice cream shop. I'll call it a gelato and sorbetto lab, where ice cream is produced on the spot, with fresh Romanian milk and cream, pistachios from Sicily, single origin chocolate from Africa or South America, and obviously fresh fruits.

The place is open from 8 am until midnight, which gives you the opportunity to get your gelato with specialty coffee from Origo for the early birds, and a glass of prosecco with your favourite cup of ice cream fo the ones desiring to have a nice evening out with friends.

Located in the "main square" of the recently build office building the Landmark, its terrace is to become one of the nicest spots to chill with friends.

Burger Van's second location is everything besides a "second Burger Van". The burgers remain tasty, but the menu is completely quite different from the one in Vraca street. 9 burgers are on the menu, delicious sandwiches and other cheese platters on the list. What about lunch and dinner at two different Burger Van locations then?

Crocant is one of these outstanding places in town, with many nice things, but I am trying to figure out what I should mention first? Probably their cakes and biscuits, being all exposed at the food counter, that you might look for a couple of minutes before deciding what to order. Then, you'll see that they have a breakfast and brunch menu. I can only suggest that you come several time to decide what you like most, because so far, I enjoyed literally everything. Coffee lovers, you'll be served with some coffee from Guido, and the people looking for some sparkles can opt for some of the trendy lemonades, sodas and craft beer. Not to forget, Crocant is not only a nice brunch place, but it is also a bakery, in case you're looking for some good bread for home.

Caramel is another French venture. The bakery ambitions to position itself as the best of a kind in the country, while using Romanian ingredients only. In the back, two French chefs work day and night to find the perfect recipe for sweets that are not-too-sweet. And that's the nice thing that stroke me, they know how to make the tastes addictive without overdosing the sugar. While being mainly a Boulangerie and Pâtisserie, they do very generous and unique sandwiches (my kind of sandwich). And it doesn't stop here, as every day a different soup is crafted. Funny enough, they are very serious contenders in the exquisite soups game. Caution: both soups and sandwiches may contain iconic french cheeses.

Pastrami lovers have their new favorite place in town! In house Pastrami and more offers a range of pastrami sandwiches and hot dogs, that can be accompanied with french fries, craft beer and more.

T-Zero (tea-zee-roh / tO / To / t-zee raw, well as you wish) is one of the first cafes offering specialty coffee in town, and most certainly the tinest. You basically have two options: or you take it to go / or you manage to have a sit in one of the two or three chairs available and you'll have the pleasure to talk to the team being working a meter away from you. But no worries, they are very cool guys, you will enjoy buying your cup of coffee from there.

Are you fed up with giving your money away to the big guys, in exchange of the lowest quality bread? If yes, you and I have found each other (BFFs!). Like me, your anti-capitalist instincts may want to overthrow the system sometimes. But hold on, there's an easier (and tastier alternative). 

Go to Miez! Open since 2016, the place offers authentic handmade products crafted with expertise and passion. Bread, pastries, they all taste unique. If Amzei’s area is known as a pleasant area where to find proper groceries, it’s also thanks to Miez.

8 in the morning, you just woke up with one thought in mind: treating yourself with a nice breakfast. Or wait no, you just left the club Eden instead, it was a long night of partying... And your tummy is screaming 'feed me'. Well, in both case simply follow the white rabbit by clicking on "Go there".

Fine dining restaurant, with a spacious terrace and a wonderful interior in a beautiful house in central Bucharest. The menu is quite special, offering dishes with an extra touch of Asian and French influences. Specialties from Thailand and Myanmar blend well with the French cuisine, and the menu proposed by Manuela Paraschivescu, chef and co-owner of the place, highlights how to play with the ingredients to offer a unique experience.

Restaurant Savart

Bucharest and more generally Romania, have a strong and very powerful art history and some places such as Galateca Gallery are here to show that the tradition continues. Conscient of that heritage, the architect Radu Teaca founded the gallery where decades of exhbitions followed one another since the place opened in 2012.  Space of creation particularly active, Galateca has seen succeed various artists from Romania and abroad, all linked around the idea of a  "Romanian Art Energy".  Danse, painting, happening, drawing or sculpture are just few example of what  happened and what it is still presenting there. The same way, Victor Fonta, Frederic Liwer or  Hirotoshi Ito are just few very talented artists  among others  that exhibited their work at the gallery.
Ideally located in Bucharest, close to the Atheum, the National Art Museum or very nice bars and restaurants, Galeteca quickly became one of my favourite art place in town.

Buoni e bravi is one of those places that, someday, open at the corner of your street. It might be a small street, a square or an avenue. In our story it is a square. A square named Piata Rosetti. For a few days you pass in front wondering what is happening behind those tall windows... But always on the rush, it's only at night that the idea of giving it a try comes to your mind. And once again it's too late, they already closed. Damn those small teams trying to preserve the quality of their product by opening only a small chunk of the day! When will we synchronize you and me?
 
But then something strange starts happening. The entrance door refuses to close, as you need to leave space for the line inside. Not only, as a few days later, some more people start popping up, and the line extends to the sidewalk. And it keeps coming, never stops. Your colleagues from work start saying "who wants pizza from Buoni e bravi?" even if the office is 30mn away from the enchanted slices... There must be something to this place. And here it is, from 18:00 they extended to 20:00 and finally you can taste the answer to your question. The classic story of a pizza-place that needed less than a year to become a reference in downtown Bucharest. A tip on their strategy: the quality and generosity of the ingredients. Sometimes it doesn't take much more than this.

Buoni e bravi

Street food at its best. Pizza Maestro is, in my opinion, the local way of doing italian fast food pizzas, with fresh ingredients and a real neapolitan pizza oven. So, if you end up walking on Mosilor in the evening, or look for a warm snack to eat while in the area, you have your new spot. Pofta buna !

A little coffee roastery in the heart of Bucharest...

Uzina exists since several years as the roastery, but they decided to make the big move to open their own coffee shop Piata Amzei in 2020, in order to be closer to their customers and of course to get more visibility. 

But Uzina is quickly becoming much more than a coffee shop and roastery. The place is hosting concerts almost every evening in sunny days. Go for a coffee, leave with some craft beer in your belly, and nice memories in your head.

Ivy is one of the greatest places to have a coffee if you are in Universitate area. Located on Carol I boulevard, Ivy serves coffee from Origo but also tasty snacks to make your lunch break more pleasing. On top of serving great coffee and food, Ivy also made lots of efforts on design. The balance between wooden furnitures and grey walls is very pleasant and will make you stay longer if you decide to stay in.

Opened since 2012, Kyralina is a french bookstore located in a wonderful house, in Amzei district, offering an amazing selection of novels, humanities, comics, art, and other curated books. There is also a big offer for kids. Want to learn French?

Do you know the Ice Cream Boyz? Ice Cream and Cakes? Well, if not, it is ok, Sweetology also offers both. They have a selection of different cheese cakes, which doesn't mean that you will have a Burduf cheese cake, no worries, but more like different toppings with the cheese cake base. For the ice cream lovers, we honestly fell in love with their salted caramel ice cream, but please keep it for yourself. Another great thing about Sweetology is that you can go there til 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

A REAL hidden gem. Tehran restaurant is the type of place you can't find without knowing the exact address. Located in a house, there is nothing that will make you think it is a restaurant from outside. There is zero indication visible from the street. But, when you ring the bell, the magic starts operating.

Two rooms, 20 seats, and real Iranian cuisine. Expect the traditional lamb/beef/chicken sticks with rice and safran, and a tomato on the grill. But they also have other dishes that you might not find in other restaurants in Bucharest. 

The choices are limited, as they ensure fresh products for their customers.

You'll find the results in your plate. The meat is juicy, not too cooked, and the taste will keep you speechless !

Consignatia 7's new location set foot on Hristo Botev Boulevard. Being one of the cutest second-hand around with a good curation on what they have to offer, a visit at Consignatia 7 fits perfectly in a lazy and sunny week-end afternoon, strolling around the streets of Armeneasca and the Jewish district.

Every year, there is a summer hit! You know, the song that everyone ends up listening all the time from May until the end of September. Well, Velocita is a bit like a summer hit. It is the place we don't even need to introduce to anyone. 
Long story short, they opened, and the next day, half of Bucharest was queuing in order to get a gelato. The only difference between Velocita and a summer hit is that a summer hit's lifetime equals to one season, while we know Velocita will be in our hearts for a while. Velocita, the true love of many generations?
PS: Consider going to Velocita in winter as well. The Tiramisu and the coffee are damn good!

VELOCITA

Have you ever tried Brazilian, Argentinian or Colombian cuisine? If not, Blue Margarita is to put on your to-do-list of places to eat ! You'll be able to try amazing dishes prepared by a passionate chef, who loves to share his passion of Latin-America through his dishes. If you're more familiar and willing to get some Mexican cuisine, just know that delicious burritos, chimichangas and tortillas are also on the menu. Y ahora, que aproveche!

Blue Margarita

Opened by the Romanian microbrewery 'Zaganu', Fabrica de bere bună is a large craft beer bar opened on Calea Victoriei. Along their own beers, you'll find other good local beers served draft or bottle, from Hop hooligans to Ground Zero, but not only. Not only, as Clarks comes crashing the party with their natural not-too-sweet exquisite Cider. Coming from a land of cider (a.k.a Normandy), this is a cider I can vouch for. So what were we talking about... Oh ah, wait, yes beer. But not only, as you can find some useful appetizers / tapas to go with your fresh bubbly beverage. Bonus for the one who like to look at the people passing by the street from a higher point of view, but still are a bit afraid from heights: you can have a sit in front of their big windows overlooking Calea Victoriei from the first floor. Or to be looked at, depending on what you're into.

Cozy coffee shop on Calea Victoriei, with a large variety of coffees from Gardelli, a world award winning roastery based in Italy. Nice selection of lemonades, belgian beers and other refreshing drinks. Special crush for the desserts and the nice design too.

Sloane Coffee Shop is actually much more than "a" coffee shop. It is a true flagship store, promoting a large selection of amazing beans roasted at the four years old (Sloane) roastery. You will have the chance to chose between dozens of different types of coffee, for filter or for espresso that you will be able to enjoy at the terrace, in THE trendiest area of Bucharest.

And obviously, with great coffee comes great design and customer service.

Not to mention that having a sunny terrace on Calea Victoriei, located at a reasonable distance from the road, reduces the cars noise, and will, therefore, make it one of your favorite places for brunch.

Cascara Coffee Roastery opened in 2017 in Snagov and is, since then, providing beans to coffee shops in several cities in Romania. Recently, Bianca and Tiberiu, owners of Cascara, decided to make the move to Bucharest, by opening their coffee shop, with the help of Alin. Located on Calea Victoriei, the coffee shop is a flagship store promoting the results of all their efforts. They have various beans for the ones who enjoy filter coffee. The espresso lovers will enjoy seeing the preparation of their favourite drink on a Modbar, giving more transparency than ever in the way the barista prepares it. 

They have a nice selection of coffee beans, but the pastries are also something which makes Cascara special. The only thing I can tell is that you should definitely give it a try.

Having previously shown exhibitions in various locations around Bucharest since 2015, in September 2018, Suprainfinit found its permanent home at Mantuleasa St, no. 22. 

With a diverse programme that focuses on Romanian and international, emerging and mid-career artists, Suprainfinit has an energetic and contemporary feel to its shows. In its bright, airy space, co-directors Suzana and Cristina present intriguing and enlightening works that will hold your attention and stimulate your imagination. Open afternoons, Tuesday - Saturday, it's always worth a look.

Livrez Fericire is providing great choux a la creme to Bucharest since a while now. However, they recently opened a paradise for Choux lovers, straight in the city center, and that place is called Love You Choux.

Every flavour is considered: sweet tableware, savoury furniture, sour textiles, umami lights and not a hint of bitterness. With the support of their most talented friends, they have succeed in putting together an international kitchen - basically a living room of taste where you go out with your dearest people, family and friends.

The menu, developed, tested and implemented by Chef Vasile Nicolae, is inspired by different parts of the world and, more importantly, is built on seasonal dishes. The soup section includes a thai soup to warm you up from the inside out, as well as a cream tomato soup with the perfect texture. For sandwich lovers, there’s beef with goulash sauce and roasted bell pepper. But they also have one with home grown chicken, camembert and garlic puree! What to choose?! 

Papila is also very-vegan-friendly, since their all-vegetable sandwich is fantastic. The drinks are well-selected: coffee and specialty teas, craft beer and various liquid mixes with fruits and aromatic herbs.

In Bucharest since 2014, Switch.eat belongs to this type of places locals have on their list when they look for a burger. They have obviously various beef burger alternatives, but also pulled pork, lamb and vegan burgers. Not willing to have a burger? They've got you covered with their quesadillas, chili con carne and more.

Velocita's second location is now open, offering gelato lovers another option while walking on Calea Victoriei on sunny days. Located on Ion Campineanu street, in front of the iconic Union building, you'll find the same flavours, the same experience, and eventually, you may have a chance to queue less than on Amzei. Worth visiting, right?

First of all, please note that Artichoke is most probably the favorite café among instagramers in Bucharest. The café is located at the end of an archway, near Kretzulescu Church and the Humanitas Library. Diana Anghel, owner of the place, expresses there her love for plants and modernist architecture.
