Origini is into a funny business for Bucharest. While those kind of shops are everywhere in big cities abroad, they could be counted on the fingers of one hand here. I heard a few time that the reason the 'organic craze' did not reach Romania yet, was that Romania was organic by default. Many of you bring back fresh vegetables and homemade cheese from your parents on the week-end. Hey, by the way, would be nice to share with us expats... Until we find a sweet 'bunica' to adopt us. Until that day comes, we'll go to Origini to find cheese, milk, meat and even occasionally the most delicious tomatoes I ever had. Everything is seasonal and comes straight from their farm in the Carpathian mountains, 120 km from Bucharest. And when it comes to more fishy products, they are freshly sent from the beautiful village of Sfantu Gheorghe in the Danube delta (worth visiting).
